    These are the words of La Patera parents describing their school and what deserves recognition, as taken from a parent survey given last spring. I am excited and thrilled to become a part of such a wonderful school community. My goal is to provide a high quality educational program for all students so that they may all succeed in reaching their highest potential. This can happen with all of us; teachers, staff, students, and parents working together. 
    La Patera faces some challenges in reaching this goal, as do most schools that have diverse populations. The majority of our students are achieving at levels comparable to other students in the district. Our challenge is to make sure that all students are performing at the highest level of which they are capable. This is a challenge that we will continue to address as a staff and as community. 
    I continue to be impressed with what I see each and every day at La Patera School. The teachers are dedicated, professional and really care about the students. The parents are supportive and positive. And, the students are good citizens and enthusiastic, capable learners. Together we are making La Patera a school that provides an excellent, educational experience for all students..
